Equestrian Services and Rates of The Farm at Tralee
The following boarding rates and services are for the twenty-stall barn that is currently under construction. At the present time, Tralee offers a limited number of stalls for full-care board at $450.00/month, and a pasture-care option for $250.00/month (see the 'Facilities' link for more information). Please call for availability.
Full-Care Board - $450/month
Services provided in this option include:
- A 12 foot x 14 foot stall in our main barn. Stalls are equipped with automatic waterers, ceiling fans, fly control systems, and plenty of fresh air and natural light through exterior Dutch doors. Stalls are cleaned daily and maintained using the European deep bedding system with white pine shavings.
- Daily turnout is provided in lush pastures with a small herd of same-sex pasturemates. Hooves are cleaned and coats lightly groomed when the horse is brought in from pasture.
- A premium grain mix fed twice daily (Nutrena brand feeds), along with top-quality hay. During the summer, all horses are given a feed-through fly control supplement at no extra cost. All other supplements must be provided by the owner.
- Blankets and fly masks applied as needed.
- Regular farrier visits are made to Tralee, and there will be no horse holding fee for farrier visits. Farriers must be paid at time of service. Periodic vet visits are also made, and all horses will be required to receive annual vaccinations and Coggins test, with the cost to be billed directly to the owner. There is no holding fee for vet visits.
- A veterinarian designed rotational de-worming program.
- Use of all equestrian facilities at Tralee, including the arena and jumps, riding trails, tack rooms, wash stalls, lounge, etc.
- Many “special needs” can be happily accommodated for a fee. Please feel free to discuss with us any additional care your horse may require.
Pasture-Care Board - $250/month
Services provided in this option include:
- Full-time turnout in well-maintained pastures with a medium-sized herd.
- Quality hay fed on an as-needed basis and fresh, clean water from a trough.
- Shelter in the form of run-in sheds, and a brief daily visual check of the herd.
- Regular farrier visits are made to Tralee, and there will be a horse holding fee of $20.00 for farrier visits. Farriers must be paid at time of service. Periodic vet visits are also made, and all horses will be required to receive annual vaccinations and Coggins test, with the cost to be billed directly to the owner. There is no holding fee for annual vaccinations, but all other vet visits will be subject to a $20.00 holding fee.
- A veterinarian designed rotational de-worming program.
- Use of all equestrian facilities at Tralee, including the arena and jumps, riding trails, tack rooms, wash stalls, lounge, etc.
- Blanketing can be provided in winter for a fee of $100.00/month.
- NOTE: Pasture-care board does not include grain or the labor to feed it; however, owners can purchase their own grain and store it in designated areas. Tralee strongly believes in maintaining healthy horses, and we urge owners to consider their particular horses’ needs when choosing the pasture-care option.
Pasture Care PLUS - $275/month
Pasture care PLUS provides the same services as regular pasture care, but includes the labor to feed your horse once daily in the morning. Owners must provide their own grain and supplements.
Lessons, Training, and Practice Sessions
Lessons are provided on Tralee horses or your own horse. Lesson length is flexible depending on the progress of horse and rider on any given day, but private sessions generally last 45 minutes and group lessons 1 hour. Rates are as follows:
- Private lesson: $40.00
- Group lesson (2 riders): $35.00
- Beginner/Longe lesson: $25.00 for 20 minutes
Training and schooling of horses is done on an individual basis. Prices start at $30.00/session and increase according to the individual horse.
Practice sessions are available at the discretion of the Trainer. Riders may obtain the use of a Tralee horse for practice sessions in the ring or a hack around the property for a fee of $20.00/session (limit: 1 hour/session).
Use of a Tralee-owned horse for horse shows costs $20.00/day for the horse and $35.00/day for instruction.
Outside trainers are welcome at Tralee. However, all outside trainers must provide proof of insurance, sign a liability waiver, and pay Tralee a fee of $10/student.
Concierge Package and a la carte services
For $40.00, Tralee offers a concierge package that allows you to call ahead and have your horse groomed, tacked and waiting for you. After your ride, your horse will be cooled out, untacked and bathed, and your tack will be cleaned and stored.
